NExa

NEXA (Navigation and EXpandable Avionics) is a compact avionics testbed we developed as a prototype platform for future flight computers within our Monolith program.

Designed as a 30 × 50 mm PCB, NEXA focuses on rapid iteration and flexibility. Open ports allow for testing a variety of sensors, enabling different flight configurations with minimal preparation time. The system is built around an ESP32 and integrates an IMU, barometric altimeter, and a GPS module, with flight data transmitted via LoRa telemetry.

NEXA was designed to be quickly assembled and flown in multiple configurations, allowing efficient development and validation of flight software as well as optimized sensor integration under real flight conditions.

Thanks to the support of our sponsor Raketenmodellbau Klima, we were able to conduct the first in-flight test of NEXA, providing a solid foundation for future iterations.
